This unit deals with clichés and the one girl that no one wants to spend time with. This exercise will "sensitize" students to the problem.
First, you need a paper doll (included here at the end). You need as many papers dolls as students in the class. You will also have to have enough pieces of cello tape for everybody (a total of 8 pieces). You can stick them to each table before the activity starts. Then, as you tell the story, wherever it says RIP, students will have to rip off a piece of the doll, starting with one elbow, then the next, then the knees, etc., or as they like. In the second half of the story they will tape her back together again every time they hear TAPE.
